MANAGERS REPORT AS AT 31st DECEMBER 2009
The NLPC Global (RSA) Fund opened the year 2009 in January with N1.2473 unit price
and closed at N1.3749 as at 31st December 2009. The Fund has been invested in line with the
investment guideline issued by PENCOM. The Fund Portfolio Allocation as at
31st December 2009 was as follows: Government Securities (50.88%), Quoted Equities
(10.24%), Corporate Debt Instrument (2.37%), Money Market Instrument (34.24%), Others (2.47%).
The chart above shows the Funds performance from January-December 2009.
The Fund posted a modest return of 10.23% in the year under review. The performance was particularly
affected by the global financial crisis which also saw the Nigerian Stock Exchange All-Share Index losing 33.78% during the period.
The global financial crises notwithstanding, management remain focused on pursuing its goal of growing the fund
by maximizing returns on investment without compomising the security and liquidity of assets and also ensuring that
every worker with retirement savings account with the company receives his/her retirement benefits as at when due
and maintain a good standard of living during retirement.
